Keeping up with USAF naming conventions such as Corsair II; Texan II; Globemaster I,II,III; Lightning II; Stinger II; Combat King II; Kadet II, etc... The first F-15EX named, Eagle II, was delivered to the USAF in March 2021 and flown to Eglin AFB, Florida for further testing.
This art represents the Eagle II in the paint scheme of ship 20-001 which was delivered to Eglin. Depicted here, performing a "Viking" takeoff which is a near-vertical takeoff with the use of afterburners.
